The project aims to create a 2.5D Platform-Fighting game. Why am I making this project? Because I always wanted to create this type of genre when starting this course and this project is inspired by one of my all-time favourite franchises, Super Smash Bros which is created by Masahiro Sakurai and Published by Nintendo Back in 1996 when the first game has been released, it was just crossing over with only Nintendo characters such as Mario, Link, Donkey Kong, Pikachu, etc. Then ever in 2008 when the third game has been released, they started to include characters that are not Nintendo such as Sonic the Hedgehog and Solid Snake. Therefore, over time, the franchise has become a celebration of gaming. By the way, the game title is currently Project Bangarang.

This is a very early build screenshot of the game – it may seem nothing right now but there will be something for the final version:

Development structure:
The game engine that I used to create this project in Unity. This is because I found using the programming language C# easily to work with for me personally like you can create functions while coding without any problems and I also found the tutorials on YouTube easier to follow when they use unity. The platform for the project will be either PS4 or PC for smoother performance such as good frame rates and resolutions. I have been using Gitlab to keep creating backups, so I don’t lose any of the work and also to keep track of my project like when I created this specific task. I’m planning to use Trello to list what I need to do next and what I have currently done so far.
Game Design:
The game design of the project will take more of a cartoony approach kind of like in the most recent smash look-a-like game that has been released which is called Multiverse including level designs and animations of attacks.
Level Design:
In the project, there will be 3 altogether and got some ideas that I would like to include and again they are all inspired by Super Smash Bros Ultimate with the stage layout:
· Final-Destination look alike – heavenly-sky theme
· Battlefield look-alike – space or on a planet (probably mars) theme
· Smashville look alike – sunset beach theme

Gameplay Mechanic:
In case you do not know the gameplay mechanic of a platform-fighting game, allow me to explain. So, the main gameplay will have up to 2 players with 3 stocks by default and all placed on different spots before the match has started. Each player will have a damage percentage of 0 to start with but when one player gets hit during the match, the damage percentage will increase and the higher the damage percentage is, the far the knockout distance would be and if the player is out of the stage zone, will lose a stock. If the player loses the stock, that player will be out and the last player standing wins the match.
Character Mechanics:
Depending on the character that you are playing each of them will have a different playstyle during the battle. For example, if I was playing a normal balance character, then it will have a brawler type of move set. But if I was playing a character that wields a sword or any other weapons, then it will have a more like a weapon-like move set. Sometimes, each character would perform projectiles such as fireballs or arrows to stand out their character.
What have I done so far before creating this blog as of date 01/08/22?
· Multiple Targeting for each player including zooming
· Made a Test Stage (as you can see from the screenshot) which probably will be re-design for the final version.
· From the screenshot, there are two models that are included already.
· Made both Player and AI script
· Respawning script for both player and AI
· Included Animations for both models such as run, jump, crouch, attacks, and… some dancing.
· Included Hit Colliders for the player.
What am I planning to include in the project later?
Well, I have some gameplay ideas that I would like to share:
· Single Player Content: Arcade/Classic Mode, Missions/Events, Boss Rush Mode, Training Mode
· VS Mode (Can just play alone or with friends (multiplayer))
· Sports Mode – either Football, Basketball, or Dodgeball
· Online Mode – Involves networking
Keep in mind that plans could change in the future if certain things do not work out. I hope you enjoy reading my introduction to the blog for the project and I will keep you guys posted soon.
